The quiet interface
Software that respects attention is rare. A note on building interfaces that say less and mean more.
Most interfaces shout. They badge, banner, and bounce for the same reason casinos glow — to hold your eye past the point of usefulness.
A quiet interface trusts the reader. Hairlines instead of boxes. One accent instead of a rainbow. Negative space that lets a single idea breathe.
The goal is not minimalism as fashion. It is respect: the user came for a thing, so give them the thing, and get out of the way.
